As a public body, Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is required to seek and demonstrate Value for Money (VFM).

VFM is about obtaining the maximum benefit with the resources available, getting the right balance between quality and cost, as well as achieving equilibrium between economy, efficiency, and effectiveness, known as the 3Es.

VFM is best determined through the competition of a robust specification for goods, services or works in an appropriate marketplace and evaluated using the Most Advantageous Tender (MAT) methodology.

Social value

Procurement activity within the Trust endeavours to ensure that social value is built into all contract specifications.

The Trust will include a minimum 10% weighting on social value evaluation criteria with any tenders that are conducted.
