We have a bold ambition to develop a health and care neighbourhood, including a new Leighton Hospital.
But our ambition goes beyond buildings and the provision of care – it's an ambition to be a catalyst for lasting change.
This is why we have developed a comprehensive Social Value Plan.
Social value is about making every pound spent by the NHS go further. Creating benefits not just in healthcare, but across our communities. To improve focus on what truly matters to people’s everyday lives, from good jobs and strong local businesses to a cleaner environment and healthier communities.
Our Social Value Plan shows how we’re embedding these goals into everything we do. This includes creating training opportunities, reducing our carbon footprint, improving staff wellbeing, promoting active travel, improving connectivity and involving local people in shaping our services.
The plan focuses on four key themes:
- Improving health, well-being, and sense of community
- Protecting and improving our natural environment
- Making sustainable and resilient supply chains
- Strengthening skills, employment and inclusion
For patients and visitors, this means more than just improved care. It means knowing that your local Trust is helping to build a fairer, greener, and more inclusive future. A healthcare neighbourhood for all, for generations to come.
